In a groundbreaking new undertaking, the Sri Lanka Air Force, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation, under the Ministry of Plantation Industries, ventured into Cashew production in SLAF establishments, with the intention of increasing the production of this lucrative cash crop, enhance local consumption and promote more exports.

The program was started off this morning under the direction of the Commander of the Air Force and with the participation of the Minister of Plantation Industries Hon. Navin Dissanayaka at SLAF Station Iranamadu at the auspicious time of 11.30.

A land extent of over 4 Acres would be cultivated during this programme.
The Chairman of the Cashew Corporation, Mr. Damsiri Bandara Dissanayake, Command Agro Officer, Group Captain OANS Fernando, Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Iranamadu, Group Captain Chaminda Wickramaratne, Officers, Officials of the Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation, other ranks and civilian staff of SLAF Station Iranamadu were present for the ceremony.
