The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias officiated at a special awards ceremony where he awarded qualification badges nad certificates of commendation to a number of personnel at AFHQ today (26th August 2019).

The Flight Engineers Brevet was awarded to Corporal Premasinghe KIE who completed over 50 hours of training on the Mi 17 Helicopter at No 9 Squadron in Hingurakgoda.

The Fighter Controller Badge was awarded to Flight Lieutenant KSN Ranasinghe on completion of training in Bangladesh.

Further, Flight Sergeant Bandara BMA of SLAF Base Katunayake, Sergeant Lakmal UKLII and Corporal Kumarasinghe SGLJ of SLAF Regiment Training School Vanni were awarded Certificates of Commendation by the Commander for their outstanding contribution towards the SLAF.
