No. 2 Transport Squadron Celebrates 62nd Anniversary

The No 2 Heavy Transport Squadron at SLAF Base Katunayake celebrated its 62nd anniversary today (02nd September 2019). Several events were organized to mark the day that included a morning Parade and observance of two minutes of silence in remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives in aerial operations during the Humanitarian Operations. The Commanding Officer of No 2 Squadron, Wing Commander SAPT Piyaratne reviewed the parade.

Further, a Shramadana campaign was organized at Sri Sobharamaya Temple in Negombo followed by an alms giving for the Venerable Clergy at the temple.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
