Certificate Awarding Ceremony of No. 27 Disaster Management First Response Course

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the trainees of No 27 Disaster Management First Response Course was held at the Disaster Management School, Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Mullaitivu yesterday (23 September 2019).
The Commanding Officer of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Iranamadu, Group Captain UPYR Pathirana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Commanding Officer Disaster Management Training School, Squadron Leader PMB Madahapola, all Officers and Other Ranks of the Station were also present for the ceremony.
The forty Days training programme focused on Introduction of Disasters & Hazard Profiles, Disaster Management Council, Act and role of the Disaster Management Center, Overview of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Hazard and Vulnerability Assessment, Information technology related to the disaster management & Geographic information system (GIS) Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE), Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) & international frame work of disaster management, Disasters Preparedness plans, Conducting of awareness programme Civil Law pertaining to Emergency Response., Emergency Operation Center (EOC), Contingency Plan (CP) and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) , First aid, casualties and death management, Fire & Rescue. 02 Officers of Sri Lanka Army, one officer of Sri Lanka Air Force, five other ranks of sister service (Army/Navy) and 31 of Airmen received their Certificates at the occasion.
The trophies for the Best student, Best All-Rounder Officer and Other Ranker and Best Speaker of the course were awarded to
