SLAF Station Katukurunda Celebrates 35th Anniversary

The 35th Anniversary of SLAF Station Katukurunda was celebrated yesterday (8th November 2019) at the Station premises.

The Anniversary celebrations commenced with the Working Parade which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer of the Station, Group Captain HWR Chandima, followed by sport activities. The day’s proceedings were concluded with an All Ranks Lunch.

The Station also engaged in several Community Service programmes coinciding with the anniversary celebrations. The complete electrical rewiring of the “Ethana Madala” Elders Home and the renovation of the entrance path to “Anguruwathota” Temple are noteworthy.

The Station also plans to contributing to an Alms giving programme at “Thapovanaya” Temple followed by a “Bodi Pooja” and Special “Bana” programme on the evening of 12 November 2019 thereby concluding the anniversary celebration activities.
