A new Welfare Shop for the personnel at SLAF Unit Katukurunda was declared open today (25th August 2010) by Director Welfare Air Vice Marshal Anura Silva on the invitation of the Commanding Officer Squadron Leader Chinthaka Herath.

Under this concept shops have been established throughout the SLAF and are centrally serviced by the Central Welfare Shop established atGuwanpura in Colombo. The Welfare shop provides all essentials at extremely low cost.

The project is a brain child of the present Commander  to ensure the welfare of the men and women under his Command. The Coordinator CWS, Wing Commander Namal Pitigala also attended the opening.
