Commander's Inspection of Air Force Headquarters
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias conducted the Commander’s Inspection of Air Force Headquarters today (14 November 2019).
The Commander was welcomed by the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Colombo, Air Vice Marshal Camillus Labrooy after which a Guard of Honour was accorded to the Commander. 1 Master Warrant Officer, 6 Warrant Officers, 22 Senior Non Commissioned Officers, 5 Junior Non Commissioned Officers , 2 Leading Aircraftmen and 8 Civilians received commendations from the Commander in recognition of their meritorious service to the SLAF.
The Commander inspected all Directorates and other areas of AFHQ. On conclusion of the inspection at AFHQ, the Commander departed to SLAF Guwanpura where he conducted the rest of the inspection. The inspection will be continued tomorrow (15 November 2019) at SLAF Station Colombo.
