Graduation of the No.13 Defence Services Command and Staff Course

The Graduation Ceremony of Course No. 13 of the Defence Services Command and Staff College Sapugaskanda was held at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre today (13th December 2019).  Honourable Prime Minister, Mahinda Rajapaksa graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

A total of 157 officers comprising of 76 Army, 33 Navy, 30 Air Force and 18 allied nation service  officers graduated today upon successful completion of the year-long course.

Squadron Leader Praneeth Kodikara of the Sri Lanka Air Force was awarded the Commandants’ Honours. He was also adjudged the Most Outstanding Student Officer of the Air Wing and was awarded the “Golden Owl" Award.

The Secretary of Defence, Major General (Rtd) Kamal Gunaratne, Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, Members of the Board of Management of the DSCSC, Members of the Air Force Board of Management and Senior Officers of the Tri Forces were also present for the occasion.

 

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
