SLAF women’s shooters team emerged  Team Champions in the Open Division womens' event whilst the men’s team became the runners up in the Open and Standard categories at the “IPSC Hand Gun Nationals 2010”.

The event was organized by the National Rifle Association at the firing range of the Naval Base, Welisara from 26th to 29th of August 2010. The event was organized for the 20th consecutive time and it was done under the IPSC (International Practical Shooting Configuration) rules with participation of over 150 shooters from ten shooting clubs in the island.

The event was carried out under 03 categories as Open, Standard and Production where the Army men’s team won all three categories.       

Air woman Corporal Prasadika became the Champion in the open division womens category and also became the runner up in the Open division overall championship (for both men and women).
 
During the championship the Airmen and Airwomen won the following awards.
