The NCO Management School at the SLAF Academy China Bay held the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the No. 9 English Medium and No.80 Sinhala Medium Non Commissioned Officers’ Management Courses yesterday (27 December 2019). Air Vice Marshal MRK Samarasinghe, the Director Civil Engineering of the Air Force graced the event as the Chief Guest.

The primary objective of conducting these courses is to transfer sound academic and managerial knowledge, while sharpening leadership qualities within the Non Commissioned Officers of the Tri-Forces. The course ran through a well-formed syllabus over a scheduled period of 12 weeks. Both courses were affiliated to the University of Rajarata and all Non Commissioned Officers who fulfilled the required criteria were awarded with a Certificate in Management. The No. 9 English Medium and No. 80 Sinhala Medium Courses comprised of 62 Senior Non Commissioned Officers and 83 Junior Non Commissioned Officers from the SLAF and 1 Senior Non Commissioned Officers from the SL Army. At the Ceremony 146 awardees received certificates to mark the successful completion of the courses.

Flight Sergeant Jayalath GSS (Air Radio Special I) and Corporal Thilakarathne WPLL (Admin Assistant Special I) were placed as the Best All-Rounders of the No.9 English Medium Course, while Sergeant Wimalaweera WAM (Dental Assistant Special I) and Corporal Perera KTN (Telephonist) were placed as the Best All-Rounders of the No.80 Sinhala Medium Course.
