Indian Army Chief visits CDS

Chief of Indian Army Staff General Vijay Kumar Singh visited the Chief of Defense Staff and Commander of Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke this afternoon (6 September) at the SLAF Headquarters in Colombo.

General Singh’s visit comes as part of his first official visit to Sri Lanka since taking office as Chief of Army Staff on 31 March this year. However his military affiliations with Sri Lanka date back to 1987, during Operation Pawan as part of the Indian Peace Keeping Force.

A guard of honour welcomed the General at the premises after which he was met with the SLAF. An exchange of mementos took place between the two military officials to signify the visit.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
