SLAF Women Cricketers through to Div II Finals

The Sri Lanka Air Force women’s cricket team secured a place in the finals of the Division II Tournament being played today (September 6) after their comprehensive win of 139 runs against the Colts Women’s Cricket Club last Friday at Bloomfield.

The Airwomen who batted first put up a score of 201 runs, including two half centuries, for seven wickets in just 30 overs. Top scorers were Manadora with 61 runs and Chamari Polgampola who scored 56 runs.

Excelling not only in batting but also in the field, the winning team bowled out the Colts for just 62 runs in 20 overs. Oshadi Ranasinghe topped the bowling with excellent figures of 3 wickets for ten runs. Meanwhile Sumudu Fernando and Chamari Polgampola bagged two wickets each.

The airwomen will play against Seenigama Sports Club at Moors grounds in today’s finals.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
