The Outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain WKASW Vithana BA (Def Stu) handed over duties to Group Captain GPNC Piyasena RWP, RSP, USP, MDS, BSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, psc. The Ceremonial Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade took place at the Station Parade Square on the 24th of February 2020. 

The outgoing Commanding Officer took over Command of the Station on 22 September 2017 and had served at the position for more than two years. During his tenure he has taken many steps to develop the Station as well as to improve facilities of Officers and Airmen/ Airwomen.

The outgoing Commanding Officer thanked all personnel of the Station for the support they extended to him during his tenure and wished all a successful future.
 
The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain GPNC Piyasena was previously performing duties at the Ground Training Wing, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay as the Commanding Officer.
