Certificate Awarding Ceremony of No 3 Heli-Borne Operation Course

The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of No 3 Heli-Borne Operation Course was held at the Regiment Special Training School, Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Morawewa Yesterday (6 March 2020).
The Officer Commanding Training of Regiment Special Training School, Squadron Leader Sumith Bandara graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Chief Instructor of the Regiment Special Training School, Squadron Leader Shantha Obesekara, Officers and Instructors of the Regiment Special Training School were also present for the ceremony.

This traditional 'Certificates Awarding Ceremony' is conducted at the end of the respective training programme in recognition of their training achievements. The three weeks of training were focused on rope work and high angel rescue training methods including tower training, casualty evacuation methods by using ropes, aircraft training exercises including deployment techniques, air crew communication, helipad selection and marking, rapid deployment and helicopter rappelling exercises with a Bell 212 Helicopter. Furthermore, real time search and rescue operation exercise was conducted to rescue the aircrew members by simulating air craft crashed in to jungle training as a Final Training Exercise.
The entire training module were conducted at Regiment Special Forces Training School at Sri Lanka Air Force Station Morawewa under the direct guidance and supervision of Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Morawewa, Group Captain Humal Dharmadasa and the Commanding Officer of Regiment Special Forces Wing, Wing Commander HM Thusitha Nandakakumara.
The entire training module were conducted at Regiment Special Forces Training School at Sri Lanka Air Force Station Morawewa under the direct guidance and supervision of Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Morawewa, Group Captain Humal Dharmadasa and the Commanding Officer of Regiment Special Forces Wing, Wing Commander HM Thusitha Nandakakumara.
The No. 3 Heli-Bonre Operation Course participants comprised of 32 Sri Lankan Elite Force members including four (4) personnel from SL Army Commando Regiment, four (4) personnel from SL Army Special Forces, four (4) personnel from SL Navy Special Boat Squadron, four (4) personnel from SL Police Special Task Force and 12 personnel from SL Air Force Regiment Special Forces.
