The No 2 Air Defence Radar Squadron at SLAF Base Vavuniya celebrated its 14th Anniversary today (10 March 2020), under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Squadron Leader DRT Mallawaarachchi. The customary Working Parade was held at the Squadron followed by a Tree Planting Ceremony. Concurrently, the squadron organized several functions to mark this occasion including religious and community service activities.

A Bodhi Pooja was arranged at ‘Sri Sailabimbaramaya’ at Irattaiperiyakulam to invoke blessings on the past and present members of the Squadron as well as to the SLAF and the nation. In addition, a religious program was held at the Pillaiyar Kovil within the Base.

In line with the formation Day, a film was screened at ‘Sathutu’ Orphanage for Children with special needs in Saliyapura, Anuradhapura which also included breakfast for the children. Further, a friendly cricket match was organized with the participation of all personnel of the Squadron.
