The change of command at SLAF Station Katukurunda was held on 14 March 2020 at the Station Headquarters. The new Commanding Officer Group Captain VGGB Piyasiri took over the duties from Group Captain HWR Chandima RWP,RSP, USP.

During the farewell address, Group Captain HWR Chandima thanked all personnel of the Station for their support rendered during his tenure as the Commanding Officer.
