SLAF Palaly Become Champs At T20 Cricket In Jaffna

SLAF Station Palaly won the CIMIC (Civil Military Coordination) Jaffna T-20 Cricket Championship – 2010 by defeating “Johnians Cricket Club” on 10 September at the Central College Cricket grounds Jaffna.

This Cricket tournament was organized by the Security Forces Head Quarters – Jaffna. The Army, Navy, Air Force and the police were among 22 cricket clubs that participated in this ground breaking sporting event. The SLAF Station Palaly Cricket team was led by Sqn Ldr Roshan Gunawardene.

Batting first the Johnians were bowled out for 99 runs, with Johnians player Harivadhan scoring 43 runs. AC Nadeera and AC Nugahapola bagged 03 wickets each.

SLAF Palaly scored 103 runs for 02 wickets in 12.4 Over’s. AC Premaratna and AC Nadeera top scored 34 and 27 respectively.

The Chief Guest Parliamentarian Hon. Sanath Jayasooriya awarded the man of the match to AC Nadeera for his all round performance.
