The Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke presented his account  of the conduct of Humanitarian Operations to the eight member 'Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation' Commission on 08th September 2010.


This commission was appointed by the HE the President Mahinda Rajapaksha to report on the lessons to be learnt from the events in the period, Feb 2002 to May 2009, their attendant concerns and to recommend measures to ensure that there will be no recurrence of such a situation.
