10:30am on Tuesday 7th April 2020
In assistance to the government’s efforts to ease the stress levels of the people who stay at homes in the districts which have been declared as high risk zones the Sri Lanka Air Force conducted musical programs on the 5th and 6th of April 2020 for residents of flats in Colombo.

The first entertainment program was conducted at Milagiriya Flats in Bambalapitiya on the 5th while the next was conducted yesterday at the Wanathamulla Housing Complex.

Most of the people in Colombo are spending a self quarantined period and staying at home to protect themselves from the coronavirus. Consequently, on the directives of the Commander of the Air Force Air Marhsal Sumangala Dias, the Sri Lanka Air Force conducted these musical programs for the residents of flats in order to entertain them and to push away their loneliness and anxiety.

Moreover, people were made aware of proper health practices to avoid the spread of the coronavirus during the programs and it was well supported by the residents who cheered from their homes. The SLAF will continue to conduct such entertainment programs in support of the government’s effort to control the outbreak of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka
