Army & SLAF Play In The First Ever Defence Services Handball Finals

The first ever hand ball tournament of which Defence Services engaged, took place at the Royal College Sports Complex yesterday (15th September 2010).
The Army played against the Navy in the first match where the soldiers took the upper hand from the beginning and dominated the entire match by scoring 24 against the Navy’s 08 goals. Corporal Rathnayaka MMNHC of the Army scored 07 goals.
The SLAF recorded their first victory against the Navy in their first ever handball match. SLAF lead the first half of the match by 09-06 goals and at the final whistle, the SLAF shot15 goals whilst the Navy fought hard to shoot 14 goals. Leading Aircraftman Kumara HMIM the SLAF skipper scored 06 goals. The SLAF now play the Army in the first ever Defence Services Final at the Royal Collage Sports Complex today (16th Sept 2010) at 1630 hrs
