No 64 Junior Command and Staff Course commences with the launch of e-JC&SC

The e-JC&SC, the ground breaking new Sri Lanka Air Force Learning Management Systems was launched this morning (4 May 2020) with the participation of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias.
The e-JC&SC, the brainchild of the Commander of the Air Force, comprises of a customized e-Learning Platform hosted by the SLAF, enabling the Junior Command and Staff College (JC & SC) to conduct the Junior Command and Staff Course remotely. This platform was designed by the Directorate of Information Technology with input from the Commandant, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay, Air Commodore RAUP Rajapaksa and the Staff of the Junior Command and Staff College.
The Director Training, Air Vice Marshal MDAP Payoe, the Commandant of the SLAF Academy, Commanding Officer of the JC & SC, Group Captain MDAG Seneviratne, the Chief Instructor, the Directing Staff and support staff of the JC & SC were present at the College Auditorium while the Commander of the Air Force and the course participants joined via e-JC&SC. Commanding Officers of the lodger formations, Officer Commanding Personnel Services and Officer Commanding Logistics of the SLAF Academy were also present to witness the occasion.
In his welcome, the Commandant of the SLAF Academy, welcomed the Commander and all present and emphasized that the day marked a milestone in the history of the SLAF Academy and the SLAF. The Commander, addressing the gathering thanked all involved for the work done and urged them to move forward to meet the challenges ahead. He went on to say that although the e-JC&SC was prompted by the prevailing pandemic, that it was a blessing in disguise, for it gave a chance to take a revolutionary step forward and to take the Air Force in to the 21st century.
27 Officers in the ranks of Flight Lieutenant and Squadron Leader, including three Lady Officers joined via e-JC&SC and will continue the course for the duration of three months.
