SLAF Disinfects 29 Railway Stations Daily

On the Instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, the Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive Wing of the SLAF has commenced disinfecting Railway Stations from Ragama up to Chilaw on a daily basis. These operations commenced on the 10th of May 2020.
With the nation moving towards re-opening public transport systems, there is a very large requirement of sanitizing public transport modes on a daily basis. With this in mind, the Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive Wing of the SLAF led by Wing Commander Nilendra Perera has been entrusted with disinfecting 29 Railway Stations located along the railway track from Ragama up to Chilaw. This process commences daily around 1830 Hrs and goes on till 0200 Hrs the next day.
The special CBRNE Team is led by Pilot Officer SKS Rukshan together with 6 CBRNE personnel. This process will be continuously done on a daily basis until the hazardous situation in the country passes.
