On the directives of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, the construction of a Post Hospitalized Care Unit ward complex adjoining the Base Hospital Katunayake was commenced yesterday (26th May 2020). The laying of a Corner Stone was done by the Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Sampath Thuyacontha.

Construction of this project will be done by an Engineering Team from Civil Engineering Wing at Katunayake led by Wing Commander Dimuthu Ekanayake.
