SLAF Commences Tactical Urban Fighting Training at Regiment Special Forces Training School Morawewa

The Inauguration of the No - 01 Tactical Urban Fighting (TUF) Course for QRT qualified Gunners was done on 22 June 2020 at the Regiment Special Forces Training School, SLAF Station Morawewa under the instructions and supervision of the Commanding Officer of Regimental Special Forces Wing - Wing Commander HMT Nandaka Kumara and the Officer Commanding Training of Regimental Special Forces Training School - Squadron Leader BWTS Bandara.

This course is designed to train QRT qualified Gunners to counter future unconventional war context in an urban terrain while acquiring knowledge and practical experience in Map Reading, Close Quarter Combat, Unarmed Combat, Close Quarter Battle Drills and Advanced Firing Techniques with comprehensive real time Final Training Exercise. A total number of 32 trainees got selected to undergo this course for a 24 working day program. 

The opening address was held under the auspices of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Morawewa, Group Captain HTH Dharmadasa.
