Felicitation Ceremony for Air Force Children who Excelled at GCE A/L’s, GCE O/L’s and Grade 5 Scholarship Exams

In keeping with the concept of recognizing children of SLAF personnel and civilians with high academic achievements, the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit organized a programme to felicitate the students who performed extremely well at the Grade 5 Scholarship examination, GCE O/L and GCE A/L Examination in the year 2019. The programme was held today (3rd July 2020) at the AFHQ Auditorium under the patronage of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias and the Chairperson of the SLAF SVU, Mrs. Mayuri Prabhavi Dias.
Scholarships were awarded to twenty five (25) children of the service personnel and civil personal of the Air Force, who excelled in G.C.E A/Ls, G.C.E. O/Ls and Grade 5 Scholarship examinations for the year 2019 at the ceremony.
Two (2) students who obtained three “A” s at G.C.E. A/Ls and Seventeen (17) students who obtained nine “A” s at G.C.E. O/Ls and six (6) children who excelled at the Grade 5 scholarship examination were symbolically presented with financial grants by the Seva Vanitha Unit at todays ceremony. The Seva Vanitha Unit will be providing financial grants to a total of 318 children who excelled at the Grade 5 scholarship examination, 17 students who obtained nine “A” s at G.C.E. O/Ls and 4 students who obtained three “A” s at G.C.E. A/Ls.
The Commander and the Chairperson congratulated and expressed their best wishes to students who succeeded in their examinations during the ceremony. Members of the SVU, Officers and Parents of the children were also present for the occasion.
