Sri Lanka Air Force emerged Champions by defeating the Army netballers in the Defence Services Finals yesterday (24th September 2010) at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.

In a thrilling encounter both teams fought neck and neck. The scores of each quarter are as follows.

It was in the fourth quarter that the Air Force netballers displayed their supremacy in winning the match by 43-39.

Aircraft women Jayasooriya CSW of SLAF was crowned “Net Ball Queen” whilst Warrant Officer DN Prasadika of SLA and Corporal Dhammika WMN  of SLAF were adjudged  the Best Shooter and Best Defender respectively.

The President of the Netball Federation Mrs. Leisha De Silva graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Defence Service Games Committee Chairman Air Vice Marshal Anura Silva also present to witness the proceedings.
