Radar Maintenance Wing at Katunayake Celebrates 11th Anniversary

The Radar Maintenance Wing at SLAF Katunayake celebrated its 11th Anniversary yesterday (20 September 2020). The Wing was established at SLAF Base Katunayake on 20th September 2009 and it has become the key maintenance organization of National Air Defence Element of Sri Lanka.


In line with the celebrations, the Wing organized a Shramadhana Campaign and an Alms Giving Programme at ‘Methsuwa’ Child Development Center, Katana. The Commanding Officer of the Radar Maintenance Wing, Group Captain Asiri Elegoda participated for the occasion along with Officers and all the Staff of the Wing. In addition a customary Anniversary Day Working Parade was conducted at the Wing premises where it was reviewed by the Commanding Officer.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
