Defence Services Volleyball Finals

Sri Lanka Air Force Men and Women emerged Champions in the Defence
Services Volleyball Championship. The finals were worked off yesterday
(27th September 2010) at the indoor courts at the Ambeypussa Army
Camp.
The spectators had an opportunity to witness a thrilling final between SLAF and the Navy. In the first match the Air Women won the first set 25-11. The women sailors fought back in the second set where they failed to stop the Air Women.The SLAF won the second and third sets 28-26 and 25-11 respectively.
The energetic beginning of the mens match between SLAF and the Navy didn’t last long and Airmen comprehensively defeated the sailors 28-26, 25-19 and 25-17 to clinch the championship.
Corporal Abeykoon AMTC and Aircraftwoman Prasadini of the Sri Lanka Air Force were adjudged as the best male and female players respectively.
