On the directives of the Commander of the Air Force, a White Sandalwood Tree Planting Project has been conducted at Sri Lanka Air Force Station Weerawila yesterday (12 November 2020). The project was organized by the Commanding Officer and the staff of Weerawila with the generous contribution from the Sampath Bank PLC. Under this project over 360 White Sandalwood plants were planted within the Station premises.

Regional Manager, Sampath Bank (Mathara Region), Mr. Sampath Kulathunge and Regional Branch Managers of Sampath Bank, the Commanding Officer at Weerawila, Group Captain Thushara Sirimanne, Officers, Other Ranks and civilians participated for the event.

During the event, Regional Manager, Sampath Bank extended his gratitude and also thanked the Commander of the Air Force for giving them the opportunity to be a part of this worthy cause and also appreciated the generous support offered by the Commanding Officer at Weerawila and his staff while organizing this event. Further, he highlighted that this project would reach a value of over 267 million on maturity in a 10 year period.
