Annual Commander’s Inspection of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake 2010

The Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Air Force Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke conducted the Annual Commanders Inspection of SLAF Base Katunayaka on 07th and 08th October 2010.
A parade commanded by Base Commander, SLAF Base Katunayaka, Air Commodore Ranil Gurusinghe welcomed the Commander to the Base premises. The inspection of this Base is conducted over a period of two days.
The Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake, the largest Air Force Base in Sri Lanka, provides administrative, logistical, general and civil engineering services to all lodger formations located within the Base.
The following flying Squadrons are based at Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake.
No. 04 VIP/ VVIP Helicopter Squadron Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake Fighter Jets
No. 05 Jet Squadron (F -7)
No. 10 Fighter Ground Attack Squadron (KFIR)
No. 12 Squadron (MiG 27)
In addition to the above flying formations, the following formations are also located within the Base.

The following personnel were commended by the Commander for exceptionally meritorious execution of duties during the past year.
