The Ground Training Wing at SLAF Academy China Bay proudly celebrated its anniversary upon completion of 28 years of service on 13 January 2021. The Ground Training Wing was initially established as the Combat Training School in 13 January 1993 and later it changed its name as at present on 15 July 2013.

The Ground Training Wing has been commanded by 26 Commanding Officers and many training courses for the Officer Cadets, Recruit Courses, Operations Air Advanced Courses, Provost Trade Training Courses, Gunner Courses and specialized English Training Courses have been successfully completed up to now.

The customary Working Parade was organized to celebrate the anniversary of the Wing and it was reviewed by the present Commanding Officer of the Wing, Group Captain Pradeep Warnasooriya. Following the parade a distribution of dry rations along with basic requirements was done for the Rewatha Children’s Orphanage in Trincomalee.
