The outgoing Base Commander of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda, Air Commodore N H D N Dias WWV and Bar, RSP and Bar, USP, MDS, Pg Dip (IR), psc, qhi handed over duties to Group Captain S D Jayaweera RWP and Bar, RSP and two Bars, USP, MSc (MOA), BSc (Def Stu), psc, qfi at the traditional Change of Command Parade today (19 January 2021).

Air Commodore Dias took over command of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda on 19 August 2019 and will be proceeding to SLAF Base Ratmalana where he will be taking over command of the Base.

The New Base Commander of Hingurakgoda, Group Captain Jayaweera previously held the appointment of Staff Officer Training 1 at the Directorate of Training. The Outgoing Base Commander addressed the parade and all personnel of the Base and thanked them for the support they had extended during his tenures as the Base Commander.
