The change of command of SLAF Base Ratmalana was held today (20 January 2021). The traditional Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade was conducted at the Base Parade Square where the outgoing Base Commander, Air Commodore LC Dissanayake RWP and Bar, RSP and Three Bars, MSc (MOA), MSc (Strat Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), BSc (Def Stu), fawc, psc handed over command to Air Commodore NHDN Dias WWV and Bar, RSP and Bar, USP, MDS, Pg Dip (IR), psc, qhi.

Air Commodore Dissanayake took over command of SLAF Base Ratmalana on 15 December 2020. He will be proceeding to Sri Lanka Air Force Base Anuradhapura to take over the appointments of Base Commander and Acting Northern Air Commander subsequently.

The new Base Commander, Air Commodore Dias held the appointment of Base Commander, SLAF Base Hingurakgoda before being appointed to command SLAF Base Ratmalana.
