Visit of the National Cadet Corps from SAARC Countries

A delegation of National Cadet Corps (NCC) from SAARC countries visited Air Force Head Quarters during their annual visit to Sri Lanka on Monday, 18 October 2010.
The delegation headed by Chief Advisor of Nepal NCC, Brigadier General Yem Bahdur Thapa consisted of 28 members from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan.
Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Air Force Air Vice Marshal PB Premachandra graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Meanwhile several senior SLAF personnel including Director Air Operations Air Vice Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke, Director Welfare Air Vice Marshal Anura Silva, Director Ground Operations Air Commodore Kishan Yahampath and Director Training Air Commodore Lal Perera were also present this occasion.
The warm reception given to the delegation was followed by a presentation on the functional aspects of the SLAF by Squadron Leader Lasantha Dahanayake. Thereafter, the Chief of Staff responded to the questions raised by the delegation. This was followed by an exchange of plaques between the two factions, marking the conclusion of the visit.
