SLAF RENOVATES INTENSIVE CARE UNIT AND PATIENTS’ WAITING AREA AT DISTRICT GENERAL HOSPITAL GAMPAHA

SLAF Station Mirigama launched a Community Service Project with a team of Civil Engineering personnel from Civil Engineering Wing, SLAF Base Katunayaka where they were deployed to renovate the Intensive Care Unit and Patients’ Waiting Area at the District General Hospital Gampaha prior to the celebration of the 70 year legacy of the SLAF.
On the instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and under the supervision of the Directorate of Civil Engineering of SLAF the team of engineering personnel comprising of an Officer and 45 Airmen completed the renovation within a fortnight.
The funding for the project was provided by District General Hospital while the SLAF Base Katunayaka Civil Engineering Wing provided the required manpower and engineering expertise to complete the project within a short space of time.
