INSARAG Workshop for Gunners at Regimental Training Center Ampara

The second workshop of the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) theoretical and practical session was conducted for the trainees of the No. 99 Gunner TE -1 Course at the SLAF Regimental Training Center Ampara, yesterday (16 February 2021) and was conducted by the disaster management training staff of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Mullaitivu.
The Commanding Officer of the Disaster Management Training Centre, Wing Commander SDDJ Ranasinghe and Instructors in Disaster Management conducted the Workshop. Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Ampara, Air Commodore DCI Werasooriya, OCT of the Regimental Training Center Group Captain WMA Kumarasiri and all instructors facilitated to make the event a success.
The short period training programme focused on urban rescue, field coordination support, emergency preparedness and response activities more effectively will thereby save more lives, reduce suffering and minimize adverse consequences. Improving efficiency in cooperation among urban search and rescue teams working on collapsed structures were the subjects covered during this training program.
