SLAF COMMENCES 70TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS WITH THE “PICHCHAMAL POOJA”

The Sri Lanka Air Force which is gearing up to celebrate its 70th Anniversary as the “Guardians of the Skies” conducted the “Pichcha Mal Pooja” at Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya for the fourth consecutive year. The event was organized under the auspices of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana this evening (1 March 2021) by SLAF Station Colombo, to invoke blessing on those who laid down their lives for the motherland and the entire Air Force. The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana also participated for the event.
The Chief of Staff, members of the Air Force Board of Management, their families, a cross section of Officers and Other Ranks from AFHQ and SLAF Station Colombo participated for the event. The event marks the beginning of the series of events lined up in view of the SLAF anniversary celebrations. The event was organized while adhering to strict health guidelines issued for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.
