Corporal Pubudu Ekanayaka and Corporal Asanka Pradeep of Sri Lanka Air Force won the Bronze Medal at the Xianning Open Asian Beach Volleyball Championships held last week from 14 to 17 October in China.

Organized by the Asian Beach Volleyball Confederation, the tournament saw the participation of almost all beach volleyball playing nations from the continent vying for the top spot.

Following their remarkable performance, the duo from SLAF has been selected to represent Sri Lanka at the forthcoming 16th Asian Games to be held in Guangzhou china from 12 to 17 November this year.

Prior to that however, the pair is scheduled to participate in the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship from 20 to 24 October 2010 in Haikou, China.
