A Soirée of High Tea was hosted by Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Charmini Pathirana for the spouses of the visiting Chiefs of the Air Staffs from Bangladesh Mrs. Yasmeen Zaman the President of the Bangladesh Air Force Women’s Welfare Association, from Pakistan Mrs. Tazeen Mujahid the Pakistan Air Force Women’s Association,  and from United States Mrs. Cynthia Wilsbach an active supporter of military spouses and families, at the Officers’ Mess, Colombo yesterday (04 March 2021). The spouses of the visiting Air Chiefs were accompanied by the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and members of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit for this colourful event.

Spouses of members of the Air Force Board of Management along with a cross section of Lady Officers participated for this High Tea and cultural show. This show exhibited a mix of South Asian and Western traditional performing arts blended with mesmerizing dancing performances of the SLAF Dance Troop. The most exciting event was the Sri Lankan traditional wedding “Poruwa Ceremony” which seized the hearts of the visiting dignitaries and the audience. The event was held in accordance with health guild lines which are in place for the prevention of COVID-19.
