SLAF SEVA VANITHA UNIT ORGANIZES “KAPRUK POOJA” TO INVOKE BLESSINGS

The SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit conducted a “Kapruk Pooja” invoking blessings on the SLAF which is celebrating 70 illustrious years of a legacy and also to mark International Women's Day with a series of religious events at Anuradhapura. These religious events were held yesterday evening (10 March 2021) at sacred Ruwanweliseya under the auspices of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana. The event was hosted by SLAF Base Anuradhapura.
Meanwhile, yet another procession of religious ceremonies took place along with a 'Gilanpasa Pooja' which was also held at the Ruwanweliseya on the same day.

The procession for the “Kapruk Pooja” commenced from the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi premises and proceeded to the Ruwanweliseya with a colourful perahera made up of Dances and flower offerings. The Kapruk Poojawa was followed by a Dharma Sermon delivered by the Venerable Maha Vihara Piriwen Acharya Ruwanweli Maha Vihara Wasi Kudagala Wewa Ghanawimala Thero at the Ruwanwelisaya premises.
The event which was held with adherences to COVID-19 restrictions was attended by Member of the Air Force Board of Management along with their ladies, a cross section of Senior Officers, Other Rankers and Civilian Staff representing the entire Air Force.
