The SLAF Women’s Team emerged as Champions at the Defence Service Badminton Championship. The Tournament was held from the 10th to 12th of March 2021 at Gymnasium of Sri Lanka Army Cantonment Panagoda. During the tournament SLAF Women’s Team defeated both Army (3-2) and Navy (3-2) teams showing the highest degree of team spirit and talents.

Leading Aircraftwomen Maltharika EW and Leading Aircraftwomen Gayathri DM became the runner-up of Women’s Open Doubles Championship.

The Commander, Security Forces Headquarters – West, Major General KWR De Abrew graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for the Prize Awarding Ceremony. Chairman of SLAF Badminton, Group Captain SWCP Bodhiseela, a cross section of Officers and Other Ranks from the Tri-Forces were also present for the finals.
