E&TE WING AT KATUNAYAKE CELEBRATES 64TH ANNIVERSARY

Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (E&TE) Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake proudly celebrated its 64th anniversary of service on 01 April 2021. Being the pioneers of avionics maintenance, the E&TE Wing has rendered its service to all flying formations of SLAF and it has become the core of avionics modifications and avionics related R&D projects.
The customary Working Parade was conducted to commemorate the anniversary day with the participation of officers and airmen/airwomen of the Wing and was reviewed by the present Commanding Officer, Group Captain Damian Weerasinghe. A plaque was presented to Sergeant Mihiran UDP to appreciate his achievement at the Air Force Excellence Awards ceremony as the “Best Tradesman of the Directorate of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering” for the year 2020.
A tree planting ceremony was also conducted at the Wing premises to mark the anniversary day. Further, a cricket tournament was also conducted with participation of all personnel including the civil staff.
