Air Commodore SDGM Silva WWV, RSP, USP, MSc (Mil Stu), MSc (Strat Stu), BSc (Def Stu), Pig Dip (IR), fawc, psc took over duties as the Acting Northern Air Commander and Base Commander of SLAF Base Anuradhapura today (19 April 2021).

Air Commodore Silva previously held the appointment of Base Commander, SLAF Base Vauniya. The Change of Command parade was held today where the Outgoing Base Commander, Air Commodore LC Dissanayake RWP and Bar, RSP and Bar, MSc (MOA), MSc (Strat Stu), BSc (Def Stu), Pig Dip (Def Mgt), fawc, psc handed over command to the new Base Commander.

The outgoing Base Commander, Air Commodore LC Dissanayake took over command of SLAF Base Anuradhapura in January this year. The Handing over/taking over parade took place at the Base Parade Square and was commanded by Group Captain N Sapugastenna.
