NEW COMMAND MASTER WARRANT OFFICER TAKES OVER DUTIES

Master Warrant Officer DDAP Dissanayake took over duties as the Command Master Warrant Officer (CMWO) of the Sri Lanka Air Force under the auspices of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana yesterday (01 June 2021) at Air Force Headquarters. The Commander handed over the appointment letter to Master Warrant Officer DDAP Dissanayake this morning at the Commander’s Office.
The Outgoing Command Master Warrant Officer of the SLAF, Master Warrant Officer SMNP Samarakoon handed over his appointment of Command Master Warrant Officer to Master Warrant Officer Dissanayake at the Commanders Office. The Commander appreciated the valuable and dedicated service of Master Warrant Officer Samarakoon during his career in the Air Force and as the Command Master Warrant Officer of the SLAF as well. Master Warrant Officer Samarakoon was presented with a letter of appreciation and a memento by the Commander as a token of appreciation.
Master Warrant Officer Dissanayake joined the Sir Lanka Air Force on the 10st of January 2000 as an Aeronautical Electrical and Instrument Tradesman. He is an Aeronautical Electrical and Instrument Master Instructor experienced in aircraft such as the Russian Mi-17 and Mi-24 Helicopters. Before being appointed as the CMWO he served in the capacity of Training Wing Warrant Officer at the Sri Lanka Air Force Tarde Training School in Ekala.
The CMWO appointment, was established in July 2017. The CMWO is the senior-most Other Ranker in the Air Force and reports directly to the Commander of the Air Force. He is vested with the overall responsibility for all aspects related to the general administration and welfare of Other Ranks and non-executive civilian employees of the SLAF.
