Sri Lanka Air Force Station Weerawila which was established on 01 June 1978 celebrated its 43rd   anniversary yesterday (01 June 2021) under the leadership of the current Commanding Officer, Group Captain DRW Jayawardena.

In line with the anniversary celebration, the Station conducted a Blood Donation Campaign and Dry Ration packs were offered to the Buddhist Monks at Nagarawewa Subodharama Piriwena and Sri Abinwaramaya, Weerawila. Moreover, a Tree Planting Programme was held on the anniversary day at the Station Parade Ground premises.

However, due to the prevailing pandemic situation of the country, all events were conducted with the participation of only a cross section of Officers, Other Ranks and Civilians of the Station while adhering to COVID – 19 health guidelines.
