SLAF SEVA VANITHA UNIT AT DIYATALAWA EXTENDS HELPING HAND TO FAMILIES IN NEED

The Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) at Diyathalawa extended a helping hand to families in need by donating 89 ration packs and 200 jack fruit saplings in view of the “Poson Full Moon Poyaday” yesterday (24 June 2021).
Under the patronage of the President of the SVU at Diyatalawa, Mrs. WJS Fenanado, the ration packs were donated to families affected by the COVID 19 pandemic situation in the country. This donation was benefited by families which were selected from Diyathalawa, Attalapitiyua, Pamunugama, Kahagolla, Bandarawella, Kubalwela and buddhist monks in Mahamewna Meditation Centre at Kubalwela .
All service personnel including trainees at the Combat Training School contributed to this meritorious initiative. Along with this, 200 Jack Fruit Saplings were donated to Ven. Thalangalle Nanda Thero, the Chief incumbent of Asokaramaya in Haputhale. The Commanding Officer of the Combat Training School, Air Commodore PSN Fernando, Officers, other ranks and trainees participated for the programme. The event was held with adhearences to health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health with regards to the spread of COVID-19.
