COMMANDER'S INSPECTION OF SLAF BASE ANURADHAPURA

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana conducted the Commander’s Inspection of SLAF Base Anuradhapura today (01 July 2021). The Commander was received by the Acting Northern Air Commander and Base Commander, Air Commodore SDGM Silva. The Commander reviewed the Commander’s Inspection Parade which was commanded by the Base Commander and during the parade Certificates of Commendation were awarded to the following serviceman and SLAF Civilian.

During the parade following personnel also received their Load Master Brevets and Air Gunner Badges on successfully completion the Load Master ground and in air training and the Air Gunner Training both on MI 17 Helicopters.

During the course of the inspection the Commander visited all areas of the Base including Base Headquarters, the No 6 Squadron, the General Engineering Wing, Supply and Air Movement Squadron and the No 21 Regiment Wing. Further, the Commander also declared open the newly established “Villa Kandula”, a new addition to the Holiday Homes for Officers.
Concluding the Inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks and civilian personnel of the Base at the No 6 Squadron Hangar. He thanked all members for their dedicated service to the SLAF in particular during challenging times and encouraged them to strive for even higher levels of discipline and standards. He also reminded them that a very high level of self-discipline is required by all members in order to face challenging situations which are prevailing today. Today’s inspection was carried out with adherences to restrictions with respect to the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.
