The change of command of SLAF Base Ratmalana was held today (02 July 2021). The Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade was conducted at the Base Headquarters where the outgoing Base Commander, Air Commodore NHDN Dias WWV and Bar, RSP and Bar, USP, MDS, Pg Dip (IR), psc, qhi handed over command to Group Captain AV Jayasekera WWV and Bar, RWP, RSP and two Bars, USP, psc, qfi.

The new Base Commander, Group Captain Jayasekera successfully graduated from the Air War College in Pakistan before being appointed to command SLAF Base Ratmalana. Group Captain Jayasekera will also replace Air Commodore Dias as the Command Flight Safety Officer of the Sri Lanka Air Force as well. The outgoing Base Commander, Air Commodore Dias will be proceeding overseas on a diplomatic deployment.
