SLAF ESTABLISHES VACCINATIONS CENTRES AS SRI LANKA ACCELERATES VACCINATION DRIVE IN WESTERN PROVINCE

With the Government of Sri Lanka intensifying the vaccination of persons over the age of 30 years in the Western Province, the Sri Lanka Air Force under the guidance of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, launched four (4) Vaccination Centre’s yesterday (05 July 2021).

In line with this the following Vaccination Centres were established and commenced inoculation of the general public.

-    Thaniyagama Tamil College, Borella by SLAF Station Colombo
-    Major Raj Fernando Ground at Katunayake by SLAF Base Katuayake
-    In front of the Sub Guard Room of SLAF Base Katunayake
-    Dambuwa Bodhirukkarama Temple located in front of the SLAF Trade Training School at Ekala

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana made a visit to the Vaccinations Centre operated by SLAF Station Colombo at Borella where he observed the procedure of administering the COVID-19 vaccine to the general public and also the data entry operations of information to the vaccination verification system.

The SLAF Vaccination Centres were operated successfully and managed administer the Chinese Sinopharm Vaccine to over 5,500 persons yesterday at the Centre’s located in Colombo, Katunayake, Ratmalana and Ekala.
