The Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade of SLAF Base Vavuniya was held today (07 July 2021) where the Outgoing Base Commander, Group Captain J M D R A P Jayamaha USP, psc, qfi handed over command to Group Captain WPAH Perera RSP & Bar, MSC (Def & Strat Stu), MA (SSS-USA), Bsc (Def Stu), ctf-ndu, psc.

The new Base Commander, Group Captain Perera held the appointment of Commanding Officer, SLAF Station Palaly before being appointed to command SLAF Base Vavuniya. The Outgoing Base Commander, Group Captain Jayamaha will be proceeding to SLAF Base Anuradhapura where he will be assuming command of the Base on a subsequent date.
